All my life, I lived by a beautiful little lake. It was a place for amazing photographs, pleasant walks, good fishing, great picnics and fond memories. It was so lovely that it was even featured in the movie Bandits with Bruce Willace, Billy Bob Thorton, and Kate Blanchett. Unfortunately, it was owned by a large corporation and someone who obviously doesn't care about beauty and fond memories decided the didn't want it anymore, so it was drained dry, leaving mud and dirt int eh place of natural beauty. Knowing in advance, I took as many pictures of the area as I could, and now that is all I have. I put together a video of it and you can find it at You Tube. Here is a link if you are interested, please watch, and remember Roslyn Lake with me. That is the only way I know how to morn for its loss.
Sweet Roslyn Video
To remember the lake, I found a few of my favorite pictures of lakes to feature today. Hope you like them, and remember that beauty like this needs to be protected and cherished.

Also, I would like to include pictures from my gallery of Roslyn Lake, to remember what once was.

so close it hurts
When I first saw this entry, it took me by surprise. The thumb looked like it may look good, but I didn't really see how great it was until I full viewed it. This entry is just charming, full of great details, and overall, a pleasing piece to look at. I love the waterfall, the detail in the fox's eyes, her freckles
It was so close to winning it hurt to have to choose. I think I spent an hour debating, and in the end, I deferred to my judges, and this one was eventually
reluctantly given up, but I feel I have to mention it here nonetheless. Special thanks to :devlillyfros
Wow, the puzzle is at last solved!
Which came first? The chicken? or the Egg?
You never would have guessed it, but this is really a question of what you believe in. evolution or creation? I know, crazy, right?
If you believe in evolution, then the egg came first, because creatures had been laying eggs long before the chicken even existed, including dinosaurs, and if you wish to be more specific to the question: the predecessors or ancestors of the chicken were laying eggs before the chicken evolved. Therefore, clearly, the egg came first.
If you believe in creation, well then the chicken had to be first, because it only stands to reason that as God created a grown man and

Intro
Yay, time for the 6th annual coloring contest. I am amazed that I have been doing this for so long now. I love the turn out I get every year, and I hope that this will also be a great year. As is traditional for me, I am switching things up again. This time, the coloring contest will feature one of my lines, and one set of lines from a guest... or more accurately, from the
Umbrella Contest Winners
Sorry for the delay. I have been extremely busy lately, and so there was an unexpected delay, but I have the results in now.
This was a difficult contest to judge, as the subject is so open to diverse uses, but after much deliberation, here are the winners.

Solo, by naseefgafoor (https://www.deviantart.com/naseefgafoor) is an evocative picture, set well in dark blue tones. The stoop of the old woman's back gives the impression of a very long hard life, and the falling light makes it feel like this is the end of a very long journey/day.
